Our Web Design Process

Our well-defined development process of milestones and check-ins keep communications frequent, clear and transparent, while keeping projects on track.

1. Initial Consultation & Discovery

Our process starts with an initial 15-30 minute call where we get to know more about your business goals. If we determine we can be of service, we’ll schedule a second, in-depth discovery call to dive into your business needs and technical requirements including CRM integrations, custom code development, etc.

2. Proposal Agreement

We take what we’ve learned about your business and create a scope of work and proposal. In our next call, we answer your concerns and questions and make adjustments as necessary. Upon signing of the agreement and securing a work deposit (1/3 of total), we officially kick off your project.

3. Prototype & Design

At this stage, we create a sitemap to designate every page the site will require. This informs our content requirements. We also determine the style guide for your brand which includes typography, color scheme and brand voice. Next we create mockups of key pages to determine content placement, visual imagery and site navigation. After a few rounds of revisions, we’ll have finalized the overall looks and feel of your new website.

4. Copywriting & Content

Now it’s time for the copywriters to create the compelling narratives that tell your brand story. We also gather your existing assets such as logo, photography and documents your users will download. If there is a need to acquire additional imagery, we can schedule a photo shoot or find the perfect visuals from premium stock libraries.

5. Technical Build

Here the infrastructure, including hosting, staging area and the installation of WordPress, is put into place. The design mockups are converted to code, and website copy, images and files are added to their respective pages. If custom programming has been scoped in the work, the code is written. All integrations with your business’ software suite are finalized at this stage. The website has taken its full form and is ready for testing and review.

6. Testing & Feedback

The website undergoes browser testing alongside running through our pre-launch checklist. Once these steps are complete, we open it up for your final feedback and review. Your changes are implemented and a project completion sign off takes place. We’re now ready for launch.

7. Website Launch

This is the day we’ve all been working toward. We migrate your website from the staging server to the live environment. Your new website gets launched at a non-peak time for minimal disruption to your incoming traffic. We run one final post-launch round of checks and officially complete the development stage.

8. Ongoing Care and Support

Laptops and smartphones require software updates and websites are no different. We stay on top of WordPress, theme and plugins updates to keep your website running smoothly and securely. We also monitor your website’s uptime, create regular backups and protect against malware. Choose one of our website care plans and have peace of mind about the health of your site.
